- George Van Tassel and the IntegratronAn aircraft mechanic leased four square miles of Mojave Desert, said a visitor from Venus gave him the plans for a machine that would rejuvenate human cells, and spent twenty years building a 38-foot wooden dome with no metal in it. He died in 1978 with the device unfinished, and his notes and equipment vanished shortly afterwards — the absence on which the suppression claim rests. In September 2026 the Huntington Library bought the blueprints.
- The Friendship CaseThe account was published in 2009 — thirty-one years after the contacts are said to have ended, and six years after the man at the centre of them died. Amicizia holds that from 1956 a circle of Italians, perhaps a hundred of them over the years, ferried crates of fruit to human-looking extraterrestrials living in bases under the hills near Pescara. Nothing was ever recovered or excavated.
- The Ummo LettersBeginning in the mid-1960s, typed letters signed with the symbol ")+(" arrived at the homes of Spanish and later French UFO enthusiasts, claiming to come from scientists of the planet Ummo living covertly on Earth. The correspondence ran to thousands of pages over roughly twenty-five years and attracted serious readers, including the French physicist Jean-Pierre Petit. In 1993 Madrid psychologist José Luis Jordán Peña publicly stated that he had written the letters as an experiment in belief, a claim many recipients rejected. The affair remains one of the largest document campaigns in UFO history.
